Bread (As

INGREDIENTS 1
cup sifted all-purpose flour 1
tsp baking powder 1
tsp soda 1
tsp salt 1
cup corn meal 1
cup whole wheat flour 3/4
cup dark molasses 2
cups buttermilk or sour milk 1
cup seedless raisins Sift
together all ingredients in the blue section above. Then
add all ingredients from the red section. Then add all
ingredients from the green section and beat everything
well. Half fill 3 greased 1 pound coffee cans or 5 - 1
pound baking powder cans. Cover tightly; steam 3 hours
in covered pan, use small amount of boiling water.
uncover cans - place in very hot oven (450 degrees) for five
minutes. Remove bread from cans. Allow to cool
